MESSAGE FROM THE DEAN
Management is very important, especially self-management, be it a personal life, professional life, or just living your life in the society. Talking about self-management, sometimes we forget to manage ourselves when we get sick. Sickness is a fact of life. It happens all the time. We grow up threw sickness. We get used to it and learn to live with it. We may manage our life by eating good food, working out, giving time to yourself to reduce stress. We avoid a risk from going to a crowded place to stay as far as possible from sickness. However, if sickness happens, we need to also take care of our mental health seriously.
My latest sickness reminds me again of how important taking precaution is. Risk can happen all the time, anywhere, and to anyone. Sometimes it happens unknowingly. Once it happened, we could not help but think why it happened to us. Where did we go wrong? And so on. This kind of thoughts is useless. Once sickness has already happened, we need to accept it and move on to manage the next step quickly.
The next step is focus on what has happened, what is the current situation and its effects on ourselves, others, and the society. Only after we have evaluated the situation, we can manage it appropriately, no matter regarding the treatment, proper practices, and situation control. Most importantly, we need to take care of our mental health, because eventually life has to go on.
“Sati ma punya koed” (Mindfullness brings wisdom). This saying is always practical. Once we have wisdom, we need to make a decision to act; otherwise nothing will happen. Finally, my sincere thank to all your support. Everything is valuable for me. OneCMMU, take good care of yourself. See you next issue ka.
